MusicMaker 6 SE
Enter your program strap here

People who make music on their PCs often take it rather seriously. They've got MIDI keyboards, fantastic drum sets, and more samples than you've got shareware. Last year young Daniel Beddingfield's "Gotta Get Thru This" got to number one - and it was made on his home PC. In 1997 a youngster using the pseudonym 'White Town' got to number one with a track called 'Your Woman' that he the wrote on his laptop. Using our fantastic full version of MusicMaker, you can get fantastic results first time.

Music Maker is a great program that lets you make your own tracks without all this fuss. It's like baking a rich sonic cake. You build your piece layer by layer, adding different beats and samples to eight separate tracks until the finished product is something you're happy with. The software also lets you source your own snippets of sound by nicking different bits and bobs from your favourite CDs and MP3s. When you've finished you can save your track in a popular audio format or upload it to the Magix website for all to hear.

It's not just audio though - to complete the experience you can also mix in a video backdrop of gyrating girls and psychadelic patterns for you to nod along to. And if you really must, you can even import your own MPEG clips that feature you grooving along to the track you produced.

It comes with buckets of professionally produced sound and video samples for you to muck around with, and you can also use loads of great various synthesiser plug-ins to help create your own sounds. If you want to use MIDI files to remote control soundcards, external samplers or synthesisers then you can do - they're intergrated into the software. And once you've exhausted your own CD collection's sounds and samples don't worry - there's thousands more on the web.

Music Maker 6 provides lots of opportunity to make great songs on your PC, but what happens when you want to take your tunes to the next level? Well. Magix Music Maker 7 is the next step up. It's packed with lots of features that are missing from the great version we gave away. With Music Maker 7 you get a song wizard that makes it incredibly easy to make a song from scratch. You also get support for the blindingly popular Windows Media and Real Media file formats, allowing you to save your work so that others can listen to it through a web browser. You can also go much higher than eight tracks, adding more layers to your tunes when you want to add depth and texture.

There are two versions you can pick from. The Classic version costs £29.99, and the Deluxe version costs £59.99. Both are laden full of features that provide state of the art recording studio technology, and an expanded range of powerful but easy to use tools that let you make music and produce videos faster and more straightforward.

Classic Version

The classic version makes a great introduction to the world of PC music making. You can build songs up to 64 tracks deep, and enjoy access to over 2000 sound and video clips from genres including hip hop, disco, rock and Eighties that promise to spice up your productions no end.

Deluxe Version

Pay a little extra for the souped up version of MusicMaker and you enjoy a raft of extra features. There's 96 possible track layers to work with, and over 3000 sound and video samples. You can also burn straight to CDs, and a VST effect plug-in converter.

Until June 30th 2002, MAGIX - in association with FastTrak Software Publishing - is offering a £5.00 discount on an upgrade from MAGIX music maker 6 Special Edition to MAGIX music maker 7, and a £10.00 discount on an upgrade from MAGIX music maker 6 Special Edition to MAGIX music maker 7 deLuxe.
