Worker: Tester
The Tester is responsible for executing testing, including:
- Test set-up and execution
- Evaluation of test execution and recovery from errors
Staffing 
The knowledge and skills of the tester may vary dependent upon the types of tests they execute and / or the stage of test. More senior level skills are needed to execute tests such as performance tests or tests during the integration stage. Less junior skills may be required when executing function tests or tests during the system test stage.
Below are some guidelines for the appropriate skills and knowledge of the Tester:
Senior Tester:
- Knowledge of the system or application-under-test
- Knowledge of networking and system architecture
- Knowledge of testing and test automation tools
- Diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Programming skills (required)
Junior Tester:
- Knowledge of the system or application-under-test
- Knowledge of testing and test automation tools
- Diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Programming skills (desirable)
