A bright green parrot with a yellow forehead and throat. It has an orange wing patch, more obvious in flight than on the perched bird. Length: 31 cm.; weight: 298-469 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Native to the Amazon lowlands of South America. Introduced in the Río Piedras area, but it is not clear if the population will be self-sustaining. A small flock of a dozen birds has been seen recently between Vega Baja and Dorado.
