A narrowly-streaked, brown finch with a buffy breast, and a tiny eye ring. Length: 14 cm.; weight: 19 g. Audio 3 (M. Oberle). Breeds in swamps from southern Alaska to the northern lower 48 States. Winters in the southern USA through northern Central America. Accidental visitor to coastal and dry forests of Puerto Rico (14 December 1923; 23 April 1980; Cerro Maravilla, 8 March 2003).
