A blackish-brown tern, similar to the Brown Noddy, but slightly smaller, blacker, and thinner, with more white on the crown and a longer, thinner bill. Length: 35-39 cm.; weight: 98-144 g. Audio (R. Boughton). Breeds on islands off Central America, Venezuela and in the eastern Caribbean. Regularly seen at nesting colonies of Roseate and Sandwich Terns in La Parguera. Also reported from Culebra.
