The Whip-poor-will of North America has not been recorded
from Puerto Rico, but taxonomists formerly lumped it with the Puerto
Rican Nightjar. Length: 22-26 cm.; weight: 43-64 g. However, the Whip-poor-will
has a very different three-note song that resembles its name.
