Peque±o y desconfiado, el Vireo Ojiblanco tiene los flancos amarillos, dos barras blancas en las alas y unos "espejuelos" amarillos enmarcando los ojos blancos. Tama±o: 11-13 cm.; peso: 10-13 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Anida en el este de Estados Unidos y el nordeste de MΘxico. Un visitante invernal raro en Puerto Rico, habitando malezas y enredaderas en bosques secos y h·medos y jardines en ßreas urbanas (avistamientos el 31 de diciembre de 1970 en San Juan; febrero de 1972 en la isla de Mona). En a±os recientes se ha encontrado con frecuencia en Dorado y la Reserva Natural Ca±o Tiburones. Ya que esta ave es difφcil de ver en la vegetaci≤n tupida, bien pudiera ser mas com·n de lo que se piensa. A veces canta en el invierno.
