NAME
xwall - send a message to X display
SYNOPSIS
xwall
[-display display] [-user user] [-timeout timeout]
DESCRIPTION
The
xwall
program reads its standard input until an EOF.
It then sends this message to the X display.
OPTIONS
The xwall program accepts the following options:
- -display display
-
This option gives the name of the X display where the message should appear.
If not specified, the ``DISPLAY'' environment variable is used.
- -timeout timeout
-
This option sets the time in seconds that xwall waits before deciding that
it cannot deliver the message. The default value is 15 seconds.
- -user user
-
This option causes xwall to assume the identity of the named user.
This allows xwall
to connect with an X display that is running user level authorization.
