These step-by-step
instructions are for making a quilt that is similar to the one you designed
and printed in Lessons 1 and 2 in the Quilt Design Wizard™ User Manual.
First we’ll open that project and recolor it a bit.
1
Double-click on the Quilt Design Wizard™ icon on the desktop.
2 Click the Fabrics
tab.
3 Click the Open tool
along the top of the screen.
4 The Look in:
box displays the folder name of the location you are looking. We saved the original
quilt in the My Documents folder. Make sure this box says My
Documents.
5 Click on the project name My
First Quilt. You’ll see your quilt appear on the design wall.
6 Let’s give it a new name. Click
File on the main menu.
7 Click Save as.
8 Type the name Step-by-Step
in the File name: box. This will help you remember that this
quilt has the step-by-step instructions.
9 Click the Save button.
10 We’ll recolor the Swamp
Patch block. Click the Paint Patch tool.
11 Drag the slider under the fabrics to
the right. We’re looking for the fabrics at the end. Find the red fabric
used in the quilt and click on it.
12 Click in the center square of each
of the Swamp Patch blocks.
13 Click the yellow fabric.
14 Click on each of the triangles surrounding
the center red square.
15
Click the Save tool.
16 Click the Print
tab.
17 Make the printouts shown below. Be
sure to select Get size from quilt when you print the rotary
cutting patterns for the blocks.
