These pages include my notes that I made during my classes on Computing. There is no other source on the web (that I know of) that contains this type of material. These notes were crafted for MY exam, but I think they will be very useful to any A-Level student, especially a student following the NEAB syllabus.

Project UK LiNK Stock Manager: At A-Level, we programmed in Turbo Pascal 7. You can download the source code of my program as it was handed in. This includes all formatting. Download here. I have not kept any other part of my coursework (in electronic form) except the User-Guide. This can be downloaded here . WARNING: You are downloading grade A standard material. Use at your own risk!!
There are a lot of other resources on the internet that can help you with your Pascal programming knowledge, search for them. The official NEAB homepage is here. From here you can download, past papers, syllabus's, examiners reports, specimen coursework material etc. A must visit! Also ftp to Garbo. This is where you will find sample code/units & utilities (such as code formatters) for Turbo Pascal 7. Another must visit. (Note if the link does not work, then search for "Garbo" in a search engine such as AltaVista). If you still have problems, email me! Good luck.
Computing may seem boring to you, but look ahead it has so many prospects. If you start in the right sort of field, you can start of at 80K a year. Also there are many more fun things you can do... commercial software protection (do you remember those cover CD's that have the "so-called" trial or time limited software? heh) learn to break the limit's and find serials etc. But after some while you'll get bored of the software you are cracking... I've never cracked software for commercial gain... just for the fun of it... Crack it... learn from it & throw it away... Check out my Reverse Engineering section, this is made form intermediate/advanced crackers, but you may wish to visit sites referenced by my links for the basic's. Once you learn to "debug" at system level, you will understand much more about the architecture of the machine, you will also be able to link the theory you are taught in Computing to actual concepts! You will find that the questions that appear in your exams of a simplistic nature... especially programming questions. Also let me clarify, reverse engineering a protection is perfectly legal as long as its not to exploit/copy ideas or for commercial gain. Laws indicate that the software agreements indicating that "THE SOFTWARE MAY NOT BE DECOMPILED, REVERSE ENGINEERED... etc" are NOT legally binding! Ofcourse the software you have may not be of a legitimate nature... The concepts & techniques that you will pickup here will allow you to pick out dodgy software and be more aware of what your software is doing. The software industry will therefore need to think twice before attempting to implement dodgy features that put your privacy in danger... This is all because of this cluster of society (us...).
* The downloads made from this section are all in Word97 DOC format. If you do not have Word97 or a higher version, then worry not. Download Word Viewer FREE from Microsoft's site and view the documents with that. No, I'm not getting paid to advertise Microsoft... It's just for your benefit.
