Each of these can be downloaded from the Windows site on the Internet's World Wide Web at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/localize.htm or go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows and select the "Internet Explorer 2.0" selection. NEW 3RD PARTY AREA ON THE WINDOWS HOME PAGE The 3rd party software and hardware information area on the Windows Home Page has been updated. In addition to downloading the compatibility files, you can now also browse them online. The 3rd party area is at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/thirdparty.htm When you visit there you will also find new drivers for hardware products which are downloadable. Also there is a link to the Hardware Quality Labs web site which regularly updates their list of products which receive the logo, or are rated as compatible. Check out the new list of software games and the second half of hardware products (the first half was sent out two issues ago) that have earned the Windows 95 logo. These are in sections C2 & C3. WINDOWS 95 HINTS AND TIPS The following are a few useful hints and tips that will result in a more productive work environment. We hope these are tips you can pass on to the users you support. A. Creating a New File or Folder Right-click on your desktop and select "New". Then you can choose to open the any of the file types offered or a new folder. B. Create a New Folder While Saving a File When using "Save As" in a Windows 95 application, you can create a new folder while saving the file. Select "save as" then choose a location for the new folder in the "save in" drop-down menu. Then choose the folder icon on the toolbar on the far right (when you hold the cursor over the icon it will say "Create New Folder"). When you click on this icon you will then be able to name the new folder. C. Start up Programs If you want to have a program open when you start your PC, go to the "Start" button, then select "Settings" and then "Taskbar". Choose the "Start Menu Programs" tab, and select "Advanced". On the right side of the Explorer screen find the program you want to add and drag it onto the "StartUp" button on the left side. This program will come up every time you start your PC. *********************************************************** C2.
