       STARS! DEMO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND ORDERING INFO

Use the following instructions to install the Stars! demo using 
Microsoft Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95 or NT.

   1. Place stardemo.exe into an empty directory.
   2. Run the file. (You will see a black and white DOS screen 
      showing the unzipping progress.)
   3. When the extraction is finished, close the DOS session by typing
      exit or clicking the X in the upper right corner of the DOS box.
      The directory will now contain the following files:

   Stars!.exe   -- Stars! program
   Stars!.hlp   -- Stars! online help. Note: Stars!.exe and Stars!.hlp
                   must be kept in the same directory for the help to
                   work properly.
   Install.txt  -- Installation instructions, uninstallation 
                   instructions and ordering info
   Stardemo.exe -- the original self-extracting zip
   
   4. Run Stars!.exe to start the demo.

If you are unable to successfully install the demo, please send email 
to support@empire.co.uk for assistance. Please include any error 
messages you receive.

Adding the Stars! icon to a Program Manager group (Windows 3.x):

To add the Stars! icon to the a Program Manager group, do the 
following:

1) Open the File Manager and re-size it so you can still see the 
   program group in which you want to place the Stars! icon. To 
   re-size the File Manager, just drag it's borders.

2) Click on the Stars! directory to display it's contents. 

3) Click and hold on the file Stars!.exe. Drag the file over to the 
   Program Group and release. The Stars! icon will now appear in the 
   group.

Uninstalling the Stars! Demo

To uninstall the Stars! demo, simply delete the Stars! directory and 
all its files and the Stars.ini file from the Windows directory.

Note: The game will end after 80 turns when you play the Stars! demo. 
The full version includes more technology, customizable races, more 
setup options and can be played for as many turns as you wish.
