power management and diagnostic software
- Cable/Board Interface Kits : For operating systems with basic shutdown capabilities, cable or monitoring board kits are available for use with all APC UPS product lines (Back-UPS, Back-UPS Pro, Smart-UPS v/s, Smart-UPS, and Matrix-UPS).
- PowerChute Software : Provides unattended system Shutdown for operating systems without built-in shutdown capabilities. All PowerChute features are supported across all APC UPS product lines.
- PowerChute plus Software : Provides extensive unattended system Shutdown capabilities when used in conjunction with a Back-UPS or Back-UPS Pro. When used with Smart-UPS or Matrix-UPS, PowerChute plus delivers unsurpassed UPS power management and diagnostic features. In addition to extensive unattended system Shutdown, PowerChute plus offers UPS testing/status, Remote UPS management and Environmental/power monitoring so you can be SURE you╞re protected.
Since many LANs are unattended and network administrator time is at a premium, APC offers PowerChute½ and PowerChute½ plus UPS management software and cable/board interface kits. PowerChute plus provides unattended :
- Shutdown of systems,
- UPS testing/status,
- Remote UPS management
- Environmental/power monitoring. (Features vary by operating system, monitoring software and UPS model.)
For each possible power event the user has the option of choosing one or more items from a list of possible UPS actions. As shown at right, the left side of the screen lists all the possible UPS events. The right side of the screen lists the seven configurable actions. At right, the ⌠Low Battery Condition÷ event is being configured. All seven actions for this event have been enabled.
