eXceed/Xpress is Hummingbird's 32-bit dial-up PC X server that allows PC, laptop, and notebook users to remotely access X Window System applications and hosts (UNIX, VMS, etc.) over standard telephone lines, using a modem, or directly via RS-232C serial connection.
Ideal for mobile users, this high performance product is designed specifically to manage the increased bandwidth requirements of remote connections to X Window System networks and hosts. eXceed/Xpress gives you outstanding interactive text and graphics performance by utilizing special data compression/decompression procedures, resulting in serial communications far surpassing that of traditional methods, such as SLIP and PPP. eXceed/Xpress, widely regarded as the fastest serial X solution in the industry, is bundled with eXceed 4 for Windows and eXceed 4 for Windows NT. In addition, it may be purchased separately for Windows, Windows NT, and OS/2 platforms. Hummingbird's Xpress/Host software, supplied as a separate product in binary format for various host systems, is required.
