What is the Year 2000 or Y2K problem?
Many software and hardware products were designed to store dates using a 2-digit year (98) instead of a 4-digit year (1998). This was done to save valuable memory. As a result, some applications could misinterpret the year "00" as 1900, instead of 2000. This could cause computers to provide incorrect data or to shut down.
Are iExalt Electronic Publishing’s products Year 2000 Compliant?
iExalt Electronic Publishing’s products currently support any date value set by the operating system, therefore users should confirm that their operating systems are year 2000 compliant. iExalt Electronic Publishing has tested the following versions for year 2000 compliance and these programs are, to the best of our knowledge, year 2000 compliant:
Software for PCs:
- WORDsearch 4, CD version R (4.Q.1 in Help/About WORDsearch)
- WORDsearch 5 (all versions)
- LESSONmaker 4, CD version R (4.Q in Help/About WORDsearch)
- LESSONmaker 5 (all versions)
We have not tested previous versions of these programs for year 2000 compliance. Versions of WORDsearch 4 prior to version R are most likely year 2000 compliant, however, we recommend that all users download the updated version rather than use older versions of the software. Software for Macintosh:
- WORDsearch for Mac, version 2.1
We have not tested previous versions of WORDsearch for Mac for year 2000 compliance. Version 2.1 is our latest version for the MacIntosh.
