Spirits

Spirits are like armies, in that they can fight, and they can occupy sectors (if they are big enough), and their status and movement is manipulated with the [a]rmy command.

They are also different in many ways. To obtain them, you don't draft them, but your mage summons them with spell points. They are not maintained by money, but by more spell points (typically 1/3 of the spell points that were needed to summon them in the first place).
