NAME

ngsizes - Usenet news disk usage report.

SYNTAX

ngsizes [ -b days[,days ...] ] [ -t threshold ]

DESCRIPTION

The ngsizes program produces a report of disk space used by Usenet news articles. The report shows the newsgroup name, the number of people who read the newsgroup, and the disk usage of that newsgroup broken down by article age. The distributed defaults are to display all newsgroups and produce six columns in the age breakdown: a total usage and usage for articles at least 1, 3, 5, 7, and 15 days old. These defaults may have been modified by your system administrator. The defaults may be overridden by the following options:

-b days[,...]: Specify the age breakdown for the report. The default described above is equivalent to ``-b 0,1,3,5,7,15''.
-t threshold: Only newsgroups using threshold or more disk blocks will be displayed. The default described above is equivalent to ``-t 0''.

Note: The file pathnames in the following list are as ngsizes is distributed. The actual values are almost certainly different on your computer.

BUGS

This utility requires the ``enh-du2'' enhanced du program. Several definitions in the ngsizes script must be customized for your Usenet installation.
