Virtus WalkThrough for Windows Wins PC/Computing's MVP Award CARY, N.C. (Nov. 17) - Virtus Corp.'s interactive 3-D modeling program, Virtus WalkThrough for Windows, has won PC/Computing Magazine's coveted "Most Valuable Product" award. Competing in the painting and drawing Software category, WalkThrough topped Adobe Photoshop 2.5, CorelDRAW 4.0 and Micrografx Picture Publisher 4.0 to win one of the industry's most sought-after awards. Winners were announced at COMDEX/Fall in Las Vegas on November 14. "We're thrilled to receive this award," said David Smith, Virtus founder and president. Selection criteria included product usability, technological innovation and effectiveness in helping users work productively. WalkThrough provides an object-oriented, real-time 3-D graphics environment featuring affordable, virtual exploration capabilities. When an object is drawn in its 2-D window, the program simultaneously displays a 3-D representation in an adjacent window. Using a mouse, viewers can navigate through each window at will, walking through the models that they've created. Effective WalkThrough applications have included remodeling interiors, laying out factory floor designs, planning trade show booths, designing theater sets, storyboarding films, creating product displays and animating client presentations.
