In 1993 a monument to Peter the Great was 
erected on the territory of the |Peter and Paul|Custom1|O:94| 
|Fortress|Custom1|O:94|, not far from the Royal family burial-
place. The statue was designed by sculptor 
M.Shemyakin. The memorial complements the 
|architectural ensemble of the Peter and Paul|Custom1|O:118| 
|Fortress|Custom1|O:118|.
