Thank you for choosing DataFile software. We're excited about this
latest release of DataFile and hope that it will help you to be more
productive and creative. This Read Me file documents some tips that
may prove helpful when using DataFile.  For details, please refer to
the help file.

DataFile is an easy-to-use software for creating form & database
applications. You visually create a form by drag and drop all kind
of fields such as text, check box, choices, calculation or even a sub-
table. When the form is done, you have a complete application for
storing data, searching, printing labels and filling forms.  You can
also export data to other apps such as Word for mail-merging, or
Excel for more complex calculation. 

1. Installing/Uninstalling
     -  For Windows NT 4.0, you must install Service Pack 2 or later
	before install DataFile.

     -  After installing, a shortcut to DataFile Filler will be
	created in your Start menu.  You can change it to start the
	Builder instead by edit the shortcut and change the target
	from DFILLER.EXE to DBUILDER.EXE.

2. Sample datafile
     -  A file called '$sample.dtf' is a PIM application included as
	a sample file.  If you want to use it, we recommend that you
	rename the file first.

3. DataFile Converter
     -  Because of the large size of the software, the module to con-
	vert other database file format to DataFile is not included.

5. Updated version
     -  The latest version of DataFile is 2.01 which has these new
	features:
	      - Adjustable line spacing for multilined text, label/
	        context and repeatable field.
	      - Grid printing on a pre-printed form. To aid posi-
	        tioning the fields in the layout.
	      - Improved help file and context-sensitivity.
	      - Right alignment all the numeric field.
	      - Minor bug fixes.

DataFile is released as shareware. You may use this program for 30
days free as a trial. After that time you are expected to either
register this program, or remove it from your computer.
