Secure Delete works in two main ways depending upon what options you use. There is a GUI mode which is started when you run Secure Delete without any command line options. The GUI allows for most of the actions you can perform through the CLI and has the added advantage of being able to set the default program preferences which remain effective in CLI mode. For more information on the GUI see Using the GUI. Secure Delete also supports a powerful CLI mode which works with very similar commands to a standard delete command but with added options and power. The cli mode supports wildcards and directory recursion, it can delete up to 65536 files at one time and clear the free space on up to 256 drives at one time. Many options are available to configure the program exactly to your needs and system requirements. For more information on CLI mode commands and options see CLI Commands. |
