I can't get the GUI to load..
Just run sdel without any options or arguments to load the GUI.
I want to set Secure Delete not to output anything to the CLI for
my particular computer setup. Can I do this?
Yes. Just set the prompt option to 'no prompts' in the GUI and this will
affect the CLI and stop all output as well as prompts. Alternatively you
could use the -n option in CLI mode to set 'no prompts' mode.
I've done something with all these settings..
Load the GUI and click on the 'About' button. You will notice a button
on the bottom left of the 'About' window labelled 'Defaults'. Press this
button and you will be prompted to reset all the program's settings to
their defaults.
This works slower than my old delete command!
As explained in the purpose section, your old
delete command only removed the location of the file. Secure Delete
actually writes over your file at least once, which will take a little
extra time.
The function xxxx wont work..
Many functions are only enabled on the full version of Secure Delete.
Why not order now?
Secure Delete seems to hang in drag and drop mode..
If you have configured your desktop link not to display a CLI window then
make sure that you have prompting turned fully off otherwise Secure
Delete will wait for your CLI input when it prompts you to delete
certain files.
