Aetiket Label Printer 2.5.1 May 11, 1998

The "Label Type" and "Default Label Type" menus were changed into pop-up lists. This makes scrolling through the list easier, and makes it more obvious to first time users that they are menus.

  • Name Change from "Label Printer" to "Aetiket Label Printer"
  • Many new Labels Added including A4 sizes
  • Online and HTML documentation added.
  • Default font and print layout can be edited directly by registered users.
  • Print layouts modified: separate Laser and Inkjet printer layouts used for more accurate printing. The print layouts can also be optimized by users to ensure the best results.

Changes and Fixes:

Fixed some problems with the 5196 label layouts.

Label Printer 2.1.5 January 26, 1998

New Features:

  • A "Show Page Setup" preference setting to permit users to use their own printer page setup dialog.
  • Label Printer can now be shared over a network using TCP/IP, IPX, or AppleTalk. Users can switch between Multi-User and Single-User mode.
  • A "Register Code" page was added to streamline the registration process. The system registration file Labelreg.fp3 is now created by default to assist in customer service and support.

Fixed the preview function that wouldn't work when importing labels.
Updated documentation and ReadMe files.
Improved the behaviour when importing labels remotely.

  • Added a multi/single-user button to enable using Label Printer over a network.
  • Improved the 'import label' behaviour, matching more closely the input label sequence.

  • Added a "Show Print Dialogs" preference setting to permit users to use their printer driver's print dialog.
  • Added a preview function for previewing label sheets before printing.
  • Modified the registration algorithm to better reflect the registration options available to users.

  • Added support for Kagi registrations. Kagi will be handling credit card and other registration transactions for Label Printer.
  • Added support for CompuServe registrations. The CompuServe registration ID for Label Printer is: 16509.
  • Added page graphics to show multiple pages being printed.
  • Added a short note to the shareware notice pointing out which labels are available in the shareware version.

Changes and Fixes:

Changed mailing address to Wheaton, Illinois for registrations and support.
Fixed some minor bugs kindly brought to my attention by users.
Changed slightly the Label Printer mailing address to conform to official postal guidelines (Thanks Mark).
Made small changes to scripting.
Changed the ReadMe file extension to .doc from .txt to improve compatibility with Microsoft Word.

Label Printer 2.0.0 November 15, 1997

First public release of Label Printer as shareware.

Greatly revised, this version supports many of the most common Avery Labels, and can be integrated with all FileMaker Pro (v3.0 and greater) solutions.

Label Printer 1.0.0 January 1997

Label Printer first released as a simple integrated label printing utility that I bundled together with my other FileMaker Pro solutions.
