Professional Edition.
The Open command works just like every other Windows
application. It lets you open local HTML files or saved Site
Maps. If you have any unsaved changes, you'll be prompted to save
them.
The Open Location command lets you type in a URL to navigate
to. The Open Location dialogue stores the names of the last 10
URLs you typed in in a pull down list to save you retyping them.
The Save command saves the current Site Map. The command is
grayed if you haven't opened or built any maps.
The Save As command saves the current Site Map under a new name. The command is grayed if you haven't opened or built any maps. How it Works explains which files are saved to disk.
The Print command prints the current page.
The Page Setup command lets you set printing options such as
paper orientation, margins and printer tray.
The Export command lets you export an HTML map with relative
links (normally PowerMapper uses absolute links). Links to other
servers (when you've mapped multiple sites) are still exported as
absolute URLs. The command is grayed if you haven't opened or
built any maps.
The File menu contains the name of the last four documents
saved by PowerMapper. Selecting a name opens that site map.
The Exit command closes the application. If you have any unsaved changes you'll be prompted to save them.
This command switches the toolbar on or off. The toolbar
contains shortcuts for menu commands and can be found just below
the menu bar at the top of the main window.
This command switches the status bar on or off. The status bar
displays useful information about menu commands, progress etc.
and can be found at the bottom of the main window.

so far (unmapped pages are marked with a blue question mark.)
This command works in the same way as other browsers - it
reloads the current page. If you've checked Manual Refresh on the
Map menu it also rebuilds the current map.
The Browser Options command displays the Internet Options
control panel. The settings in this dialogue (except the home
page) are shared with Microsoft Internet Explorer. For more
details on how this works see Internet Explorer
Support.
The Mapping Options command displays a tabbed dialogue containing the following tabs:
The Crawler tab controls the way PowerMapper crawls a site.
The Blocks tab controls link blocking.
Link blocking prevents PowerMapper crawling areas of a site where it would cause server load problems such as pages generated by a database. Many Webmasters use the Robot Exclusion Standard (RES) to keep web crawlers like PowerMapper off problem areas of their sites. For example, many search engines block crawlers from their search results pages.
http://www.electrum.co.uk/cgi_bin | will block all links to or generated by GGI scripts on the server www.electrum.co.uk
http://www.electrum.co.uk/cgi_bin/admanager | will block all links to or generated by the Advert Manager CGI scripts on the server www.electrum.co.uk
http://www.electrum.co.uk/azindex.htm | will block all links to the page /azindex.htm on the server www.electrum.co.uk
http://www.electrum.co.uk/private | will block all links to pages in the directory /private on the server www.electrum.co.uk
file:////c:/wwwdir/quake_league | will block all links to pages in c:/wwwdir/quake_league on your local hard disk
*.qak | will block all links to files with a .qak extension |
The Links tab controls the type of links PowerMapper follows on a site.
The Tools tab ()
sets the tools used in the right-click menu in the structure view
on the left side of the PowerMapper window. To choose a tool
click on the tools name then use Browse to navigate to the tool's
installation directory. The following tools are known to work
with PowerMapper, (although most other tools that accept a
command line will also work):
The following tools will not work with PowerMapper because they do not accept HTML files as command line arguments:
The Servers tab ()
lets you specify additional servers to map when mapping your
site. By default PowerMapper only maps pages on the server that
the start page lives on. If you have a site spanning multiple
servers then specify the domain names of the additional servers
here.
