Preferences
This Dialog is used to configure and customise the operation of SubmitWolf.
| Browser | Sets the Default Html browser |
| Proxy | Access to the Internet via a Proxy |
| Port | Defines the port number if using a Proxy |
| Timeout | Timeout Delay in Milliseconds. |
| Number of concurrent connections | The number of concurrent conections that are to be used when submitting URLs. |
| Sort Options | Submission Reports can be sorted by Engine Name or Last Submission date. |
SubmitWolf presents all results in a HTML format, and you will need a WWW Browser such Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer to view them. The executable file name including the full pathname specification of the browser you wish to use must be entered in the box provided. Once entered, the [help] button can be used to verify the setting.
Proxy Server Address & Port
If you need to access the Internet via a proxy, the address and port of the proxy server, or gateway must be specified. If are getting constant 'Host not Found' error messages, chances are that your proxy settings are not correct.
Timeout Delay
The lenght of time SubmitWolf will wait before attempting to Retry and/or abort a network operation. The default value is 8000 milliseconds. If you specify a smaller delay, SubmitWolf will run faster, but may skip engines that are slow to respond. Please note that unless you have a very fast internet connection, you should not use a delay less than 2000 milliseconds as the program may not function correctly.
Number of concurrent connections
To speed up the submission process, SubmitWolf uses multiple connections to submit URLs concurrently. The maximum number is 20, and you may wish to specify a smaller number, if you are submitting in the background while downloading files or using your browser.
Submission reports can be sorted either By Engine Name, or By Submit Date.
