The Activity Log

The Activity Log Window lists all the events that have occurred since SurfinShield Xtra was last invoked.

A record of the last 1,000 events is stored in the log file on your hard disk. The file name is:
<Your SurfinShieldXtra directory>\config\log.sfs .

SurfinShieldXtra's log records all actions performed by all applets loaded by your browser.

Line 1: Records the fact that the first applet in this session was spin which was loaded from the Finjan web site (http://www.finjan.com/IMAGES/spin) and started running on July, 24th 1996 at 3:18 p.m.
Line 2: Shows a similar event of another applet that was embedded in the Finjan web site called mookie that was loaded automatically by the browser.
Line 3: Shows that the applet mookie that had been running in the browser environment since 6:21pm, was stopped by the user at 7:34pm.
Line 4: Shows a record of an SurfinShield initiating a status check of the browser environment and reporting the applets running in the environment at the time.
Lines 5-7: Show records of an Applet called readFile that was loaded from the URL http://www.javasoft.com/java.sun.com/sfaq/example/ .The applet has tried to read a file from the local disk (security.file.read: /etc/passwd) and subsequently was terminated by SurfinShield (Applet killed by SurfinShield).
Line 8: Shows a record of the same applet (readFile) trying to get into the system again and prevented by SurfinShield.
Lines 9 - 12: Show records of two Applets (scrollPic and webPoker) that were loaded (two copies of webPoker).
