The blur in the animation from which this still was taken was created with the following settings:
     Duration: 2
     Subdivisions: 10

Scene Motion Blur is a time-sensitive special effect in 3DS MAX Video Post. It creates trails behind all moving objects by rendering the entire scene at multiple time increments within each frame, and then creating the frame by compositing the multiple images together.

Use Scene Motion Blur whenever you want to strongly emphasize rapid motion. When this option is active, the Renderer is called n times between frames, where n is an integer value that you specify. The accumulated result is composited in each frame, resulting in a motion-blur/trails effect.

Scene motion blur is the option to use when you want an overall motion-blur effect. You can also combine it with object motion blur, which is set up in the Render Scene dialog.
