VUE File Renderer

Reference

The VUE File Renderer creates VUE (.vue) files. VUE files are an editable ASCII format that acts as a script for the Renderer during command-line rendering.

This renderer’s rollout has only a Files button, to let you choose a name for the VUE file to create.

The VUE file contains the same data you’d find in a VUE file rendered in 3DS DOS, except for morphing objects. The 3DS DOS VUE files listed morph target names and percentages, but that’s now impossible because the MAX 3DS exporter doesn’t export morph targets.

How To

To create a .vue file:

  1. Use File/Preferences to choose VUE File Renderer as the Production or Draft renderer.
  2. Activate a camera viewport.
  3. Note: You must render from a camera viewport in order to include the coordinates for the camera itself.

  4. Click Render Scene.
  5. Choose the rendering configuration (Production or Draft) to which you assigned VUE File Renderer, and use the VUE File Renderers rollout to specify a filename.
  6. Render the scene.
  7. The VUE file is written to disk. The Virtual Frame Buffer appears but it doesn't display an image.
