hi,

> Although I have been an Amiga User for some time I am very new to the Internet (2 months) and as such I am coming across terms that I hadn't heard of before such as PGP and UUencode/decode. First up PGP how do I get it (Program and personal code) and how do I use it? I am currently using YAM, does it have PGP built in if not how do I integrate the two? Next up is UUencode/decode. I understand what this does and I managed to download a program from Aminet. But how do I use it, can I integrate it with YAM? I would be grateful for anyones Help. -Databug-

your mailer format needs to be sorted as well, it doesnt wrap.

anyway, PGP can be found on the Net, I believe its been on CoverCD's, but
the best place to go is the PGP web site http://www.pgpI.org

uuencode and uudecode are program used to import and export binaries into
plain text emails. they are pretty defunct in moderm mail as modern email
uses MIME to 'encapsulate' the data files. pretty much the same thing, but
with a nice RFC and a standard header/ID system.

as for PGP in email. none of the clients have PGP built in afaik, but they
all (the good ones!) support PGP as an addon. so you just install PGP, tell
the mail program where it is (or it uses PGPPATH: anyway!) and then you can
PGP sign/encrypt/decrypt your emails :-)
