It doesn't take ages to download. There are rarely more than 100 mails
sent to this list daily, and on a 56k modem that should take less than
5 minutes. You can then read and reply to them all at your leisure,
without having to worry about how long you're spending online.
Plus, this is what email programs are designed for, it's bound to be
much easier than using the eGroups website which, as you've already
discovered, is slightly clumsy to use.
