Do you have anything else connected to the SCSI?

If the drive was previously used on an Amiga, it shouldn't need any
jumpers changing unless there is an ID conflict with another drive on
the chain. Normally you can move a drive from one Amiga to another and
it just works. (Try that on Windows).

Do a web search for the model number and you may find a downloadable
manual showing the jumpers.

Some A3000s have early and unreliable SCSI chips. These can be updated.

Check that your HDToolbox is set for scsi.device and not for some other
device. (tooltypes in icon)

I've known drives prepped with GVP software to refuse to work on other
Amigas.
