Keyfiles are good for shareware... but what about commercial software?
I don't think customers would be jumping at the idea of purchasing the
software, then waiting a couple of days for a keyfile to arrive in the
post or via e-mail.
Imagine the administration costs and fuss for both parties. Even then,
there's nothing stopping people from copying keyfiles when they receive
them.
It's been mentioned about serial number client/server verification.
Several recent PC games have done this - Half-Life, Quake 3, Unreal
Tournament to name a few. This system works fine, but there are cracks
available to remove the checks.
Quote carefully and read all ADMIN:README mails
