That was fine for then, but times have changed. It's simple to add
floppy disk protection, but not simple when your software is on CD.
Sure, there are serial numbers and on-disc protection, but the pitfalls
for these tried and tested methods have already been highlighted.
As a software developer, there was a small sense of relief that it was
going on CD a few years ago because no-one could be bothered to copy
the contents from the disc (400 MB of data spread across 200+
multi-spanned ZIP archives? :). But, with a 1:4 CD-R ratio today, you
know it'll be copied regardless.
Is there a solution? I'd like to hear it.
