Hi All,
A lot of suggestions re stopping piracy have involved utiltising an internet connection to verify the legality of the program at startup.
Now, call me funny names if you like ( I do :-)) but the last thing I want to have to do, when I load up a program for a quick half hour spell or the like, is to have to go online just so that I can use it. And what about people who don't have an internet connection? It's not a requirement is it.
As an example, I am sometimes able to go home from work at lunchtime. Whilst I'm there I often fire up Wipeout for a quick couple of laps. If I had to verify online I would have to connect to my ISP during the day, at the most expensive rates, wait for the verification process to complete and then carry on. By which time I would probably have to switch it all off and go back to work. Not my idea of fun :-(
