It sounds like you've got a drive with an SCA, 80 pin, connector, rather
than an ultra wide SCSI, 68 pin, connector. SCA interfaces are intended
for "hot plug" applications, such as with RAID arrays.

Adaptors are available to convert both SCA and SCSI U/W to SCSI2. Check
out any decent electronics component supply catalogue.
