Subject:Re: OT GCSE Results

Hi GCSE people

>>> If anyone on this list is waiting to get their GCSE results on thursday
>>> (like me) I wish them all the luck. I hope you get the results you
want.

I'm sorry but I don't have a high opinion of GCSE's. The fact is they are
designed so that 16 year old male minds can cope. At 16, most blokes
don't have the will to do well. There are countless people who can pass
the GCSE's without revising and do very well. I did and I know many other
people who did too. GCSE's aren't getting easier. The problem is is that
people at 18+ look at the past exams and realise how easy they are, but
for the 16 year old mentality and the fact they are their first 'big'
exams and therefore unexperienced in them, GCSE's are not easy.

It does seem to older people that you get marks for writing your name on
the paper, but trust me when you have gone on do something else like A-
levels and then even a degree, you realise that the GCSE's were a doddle
and you were not in the right frame of mind to do exams. That frame of
mind comes when you do your A-levels.

For girls, GCSE's are different, because they do mature earlier and
therefore get the frame of mind to do them.

But good luck anyway, you will all ace them.
