for 2D games and where software drawn maps have to be done, then you're
looking at 35fps at 640x480 on the mediator.

for hardware assist...and assuming that all textures are already in card
memory AND stay there, then you'd look at 1.3M triangles per second for
32bit and 2.6M for 16bit - which is a LOT lower than it can do in a real
PCI 100 or AGP system.

but for games with 50,000 polygons onscreen, then you get 50fps. thats so
long as the PPC can keep up with that number of polygons (and i doubt it
with the slow SIMMs and the 68k context switches still around messing up the
cache)
