I have a Linux tool, vortex-diag, that enabled me to reprogram the 3com
vortex seris (509b/c) MAC address.
want my machine to be the same ID as that of the CEO? no sooner wanted than
done ;-)

;-) I've had the problem of the switch saying the connection is half-duplex,
and the card saying its full-duplex. that causes wonderful network problems
