Hi
Just some more information about my zip drive problem now. I have indeed
tried it in my A1200T, with the same effects as the A4000.
Secondly i have realised why the hard disk light actually on the A4000 would
appear to go on, it's nothing to do with the Hard Disk, it's the Zip drive
turning that light on!! So it's no the hard disk at all coming on.
So it looks like this now, with IDEFix '97 demo activated - i insert a zip
disk, and with or without any DOS Drivers activated the Zip Drive will go
active, and then about 4-5 seconds later, it crashes the A4000 with a Guru
of code: 8000 000B.
This means that a unsupported FPU instruction has been exceuted, and guess
what is in this A4000, an 060.... I shall try reinstalling the GVP software
with the libraries etc. I can't quite see how IDEFix could fail on an 060
when soem many other users use IDEFix and zip drives and 060 processors.
Odd.
Note: the 68060 card is a GVP 4060 with 32MB RAM installed, there is no fast
RAM on the Amiga motherboard - could this be a problem??
Later on: :) Well just instaled the 4MB SIMMs on to tghe motherboard that i
have foud lying about the place, but no chnage at all, and re-installed GVP
4060 libraries (both 68040 and 68060.library) - with no effect at all.... :(
Surely someone can help me? I tried formatting a Zip disk via ShapeShifter
but that resulted in the 'Mac' saying 'Disk is damaged' or similar - which
is more helpful than Error 3, 29 and 30!! :)) Could it be a duff disk?
