I have purchased a new Seagate Barracuda 18.2GB drive but unfortunately it
has a "Ultra Wide" SCSI connector on it, which incorporates data and power
into the one connector ("hot plug"?). I spent all day Saturday going to
different small local computer shops and even major electronics stores to
try and find a converter to go down to SCSI-II (for the Blizzard 1240 SCSI)
and 4-pin power, but without any luck. I had a look on the Seagate website
and see that this exact drive also comes in a SCSI-II version, but seeing as
I have bought the UW-SCSI version for such a good price (AU$550 as opposed
to $750 new) I figured the adaptor would be worth hunting down, but I can't
find one! One shop says that they don't even exist, and another shop says
he can get one in for me in a week (so I'm sitting on my hands typing this
and waiting....)
I was just wondering if your Barracudas are 68pin??? I need to convert from
the UW-SCSI (80pin?) down to the 50pin SCSI-II, and separate power, whereas
you just had to convert from 68-pin down to 50-pin?!?!

Richard.
