If you get Guru 8000 000B, it usually means that the machine has started
executing random data as code - it's the FPU equivalent of 8000 0004, and it
doesn't necessarily mean your FPU is incompatible with the running software.

How many disks have you tried? If these problems persist with several
disks, it's unlikely to be the disks.

Is your Zip drive IDE or ATAPI? (If it's got the word "iomega" in red
in the bottom left corner, it's probably IDE).

If it is IDE:

The IDE Zip drive basically pretends to be a hard-drive - but to protect
the data on the disk against corruption by machines which can't tell the
difference between a hard-drive and removable drive, it won't allow you to
read or write to the disk after inserting a disk, until you reset the machine.
(The light should go out after inserting the disk though...)

Is it possible that your disk is write protected? (This caused *major*
problems with some versions of IDEFix - usually a freeze)

If I were you, I would remove IDEFix, insert a disk, reboot and then try
HDToolBox. If it still doesn't work, then you've either got a suspect disk
or a suspect drive. (My IDE Zip drive's been dead for over a year BTW
- the machine won't even boot with it connected now).

Finally, do you actually need IDEFix? If you've just got a CD-ROM on the
second channel, you can use atapi.device without running IDEFix.

Or were you hoping that IDEFix would sort out your Zip woes?

All the best,
