That'd be a bridgeboard :) I know the GoldenGate 386SX at 25MHz is woefully
out of date now, but it runs faster than any software PC emulator by a very
long way. This is comparing the speed of PC-Task 4.4 on a 68060 50MHz with
48MB fast RAM and a A3000 with GoldenGate 386SX card.
Basically, the GGate races off into the distance speed wise compared to
PC-Task!! :)
However a Pentium based Bridgeboard could indeed be possible, if a company
has enough time to build one, built a custom BIOS chip and all that, and
squeeze all that onto a Zorro III card. (Couldn't have Zorro II due to its
16/24 bus architecture, and the most you could use CPU wise then would be
the 486SLC)
Or, you can do something else, shove a single board computer (PC) into your
big box Amiga's ISA slots, and have a Celeron 433, Pentium III on your Amiga
- sort of :)
