Subject: | PFS3 troubles |
Hello all,
I've recently purchased PFS3 and installed it, and updated it with the
latest patch.
The problem is that I have noticed that a lot of files are now corrupting
when copied or moved, examples being archive files (.lzh, .zip etc) copied
from another partition or CD, giving me CRC error messages when
decompressed.
I have tried altering MaxTransfer and Mask settings, but they make no
difference whatsoever. In the end I went back to FFS until I could find a
solution. I've also tried pfsdoctor and formatting with pfsformat instead of
the WB format. I've looked in the manual but didn't find anything that
helped.
I am using a buffered IDE interface with IDE-Fix'97, with a 32x CD-ROM and a
1.6 Gb hard disk (1.2+ Gb, 2x 100 Mb partitions) connected to it. Other
hardware: Surf Squirrel (CD recorder & modem connected), Blizzard PPC 160
Mhz/040-25 Mhz+SCSI (no SCSI drives connected yet) with BVision, fixed rev.
2b m/board, all in a Power Tower ... and OS3.5 with the "scsi.device" patch
skipped. I am considering a SCSI hard disk to connect to the BlizzardPPC
card but whether I will have the same problem here, I don't know.
I have tried mailing PFS support but no answer yet.
If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.
Cheers
