It is very likely that it is a MaxTransfer value problem. I'd recommend a
MaxTransfer value of 0x1fe00 for each partition.
What value did you use for MaxTransfer? And if you used HDToolbox did you
press enter after entering the new value? (it doesn't notice the change unless
you do).
Remember that any large files that have been copied with an inappropriate
MaxTransfer value may be corrupt, and will need to be replaced.
