I get the impression the mag is written for people who are ignorant that there
is a whole computing world beyond red and white balls.
Not enough news. Sure not your fault not a lot is happening as yet. What
little news there is I read online before it appears in print.
Rants & Raves : Bad idea imo. Skip three pages.
Who are DCE : Mildly interesting, but didn't hold my attention to the end of
the interview.
15 years of amiga : done to death already. IMO, nothing can beat Edge
magazine's article on the history of the Amiga. Skip six pages.
Amiga Writer : hmm, it sucks and gets 3 pages. Yet, PageStream ruled and got
2. Skip those three.
Audio Evolution : Looks good, I'll have to check it out. :)
Eyetech EZTower Z4 : I already have my 1200 in a tower, it's very nice and
does it's job very well. Skip two.
Art Effect : doesn't interest me. TVPaint, PPaint, SuperView etc meet my
needs. Skip.
Art Effect Tutorials : bah. Sk..
YAM2.1 : I already decided YAM sucks thanks. Guess? :)
Imagaine : not interested. 3 easy ways to make a Boing ball, lame.
Active media : haven't read.
Shareware :
Amtelnet is a rip off.
TView, I don't watch TV that much.
SimpleFTP, opus is fine thanks.
Mah-Jong, great game. but nothing beats the ZX spectrum version. :)
Programming in C : No thanks. DHTML and PHP do me.
Active Gamer : not a bad interview, I do think Eyetech's "pay to download"
idea is shot though. Who is going to pay to download a game when it's
available for free on Back2Roots or <insert URL> ? Oh I know, the sheep.
Payback: looks nice.
Ultimate XTReme Racing : It's essentially 5 years old ffs.
Letters + the guru : couldn't be bothered, hugely unimpressed with the mag
thus far I can't bring myself to read anymore.
Online : started reading, thought it was a bit of a repeat of the spam article
in CU which I memorised. :)
RetroActive: Hmmm, not up to jason's usual standards. Probably because Jason
didn't write it. Ho hum.
I find Clubbed much the same, but find it more acceptable because Clubbed is
a fan production, and I only have one issue left of my current sub.
Unlike those I have talked to who no longer buy AA, I tried to give some
feedback re issue 10. I think it's important to have a mag on the shelves in
news agents so people know there are still plenty of people to turn to for
help (or something...).
Carpe Diem,
Mike O'Hara
