Hate to say this Simon, but I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. I
think you'll find He's refering to putting Copyright text within the file,
not putting text into a picture IYSWIM.
Anyway. Taking PPaint 7 as an example, go to the project - Information -
Project menu item and type in your details. But be aware that these details
are not inclded in every format AFAIK only ACBM (but don't use this format),
IFF, GIF, and PNG. This facility is also available when saving JFIF/JPEG but
it depends if the program you're saving from supports it.
However, Loading and saving the picture again in the same or another package
may well delete this information as may converting it to another format.
And finally...
The chunks for storing this information in IFF files is slightly different.
AFAIK only DPaint 5 supports the newer chunks. I think this was an update to
the IFF specification.
