That wouldn't fix the problem of it not booting the machine up, would it?
Even the crashes are strange. A normal crash (fatal one) flashes the Power
LED about 4 times and then reboots. The crashes I get from the PPC are
different - it flashes the Power LED once, and then it stays on it's dimmer
state. Then it doesn't do anything for about 10 seconds, then it reboots and
it all begins again.

I doubt Phase5 would still fix it at all - they've closed down :-) I expect
you knew that though, and you just wrote in the wrong context :-)
