Woah there! Take a few deep breaths. They DO mention that before the
Altair there was the French "Micral", and they say that: "Bill Gates, with
Paul Allen, cobbled together the BASIC programming language and dropped out
of college to parlay it into an empire." Cobbled together. He didn't invent
it, that's sure (was he even alive when it was conceived at a University?)
but he did play a big part in bringing it to the masses.

...and before you start stamping your feet and sulking, it's an article on
the history of the "PC", not computers in general.
