That suggests that the SB Live 1024 is not well engineered. Weak bass is
a symptom of poor line output circuitry.
You could try the headphones output, or do what I do and use a high
impedance input circuit on the pre-amp. Possibly an op-amp based DI box
might be worth a try too - they are basically impedance matching
devices.
But doesn't the SB sell for only around £120? You won't get high quality
sound for that price. You'll get "features", free software, etc etc.
