What I mean is the modern trend of improving the language by adding OS
hacks. If they wish for instance to add the capability of say handling
windows they should'nt add things like direct calls to library routines
using OS legal methods. Instead they should stop being so lazy and write a
proper Window command. Take Hisoft for example to program my miggy I am
expected to understand not only BASIC but C and Assembler as well. Well when
I write a program I have no wish to use a hybrid program. It's O.K. though
if for instance they take an idea from another language and include it with
BASIC for instance the use of TYPE from C as biult into Blitz. However as
far as this platform goes, I'm afraid we are still carrying a lot of baggage
from the Commodore days, as any one who remembers back to the VIC and C64
that wasn't BASIC it was ASCII soup.
